You there. Yeah, you. How would you like to do one small thing that makes the world a better place to live for everyone?
What? Yup, here’s one little thing you can do that will make a huge difference. And you won’t even have to get up.
There’s a young man I know, Toliver, goes to George Mason college, same as my daughter Erin. He’s from a working-class family in a small town that’s been hit hard by recessions and downturns, and he’s toiling at two jobs to put himself through college, on his own. He’s a hard worker, yet still makes time to help others. I’ve met him, and am impressed by his good qualities and plans for improving things.
So he got accepted into this working/educational program for next Summer. Instead of taking Spring Break and Summers off, like other kids who have their college way paid for, Toliver wants to go 30 miles outside of Panama City to live off-the-grid in a program that teaches young people how to research and apply better ways of living for a community.
Here’s a link to the program: https://kaluyala.com/education
Yeah, he wants to spend his time away from college, living rough, so he can learn how to make the world better. What he learns there he’ll bring back home to work in communities around the country, like those American small towns that have been adversely affected by changing economic times.
In his own words:
“I want to make it my goal to give people and the communities they are part of the tools and plans to develop more healthy and successful lives, whether on a personal, communal, or societal level.”
Now THAT’S helping our country and its people.
Here’s where you come in. The program is costly, and this young man is already paying for his own college. So he started a funding campaign to see if others could pitch in a couple of bucks to help him reach his goals. Even if all you’ve got is the price of an extra Starbucks, it would help. This is about people working together, and it’s easy for you to do one small thing to have a greater effect.
Here’s where to go-
Thanks for paying attention. I hope you’ll consider being a part of a good thing.
To say thank you, I'll give you a free ebook or audiobook for helping out. Just tell me which of my books you'd like, and I'll send a code and instructions on how to get it.
