Very different from my usual novel fare...
Here’s a modern version of the supposed mythic hero Odysseus, but not the good and likeable hero and champion you might know. Odie King is just out of prison and returning home, to a changed world where he doesn’t fit in, try as he might. He’s suffered so much, he’s less concerned about the lives of others. Self-centered and opportunistic, he’s a true trickster who gets payback for any slights. He tries to find a new, mostly normal life with his faithful wife Penny and son Marcus, but his character makes it a rocky road.
