Latest news

Wow, it's been quite an interesting season. Lots of news.

My latest novel (which just got a good review from a long-time fan), Odie and Penny, a modern retelling of The Odyssey, was going to be narrated as an audio book, but the one proposing turned out to be a scammer. Yup, they've discovered ACX as a place where the scum-weasels think they can rip authors off for a few bucks.

May the filthy bastards who steal from others rot in hell. Authors are under assault from jerks like this, as well as those flooding the market with AI crap. The game was hard enough without every new day bringing another obstacle.

So now I'm thinking of doing the narrating myself, a major undertaking, and expense of time and money. It's always something.

ACX is changing their terms, and also recently showed prompts for more author promo:

Upcoming- I'll be at an event next week selling books. Check this out:

Formerly- recently had a few other shows, like the one at the Big E fair:

And one at The Dome for the GNE Craft Fair, where a fan was happy to pick up a copy:

I got a bit of help from author I.D. Marie there, who said my little signs needed upgrading. She was right, and she generously did this one:

There will be more selling events in November, so we'll see what happens between now and then.

Now I have to get back to work on my next novel...  😏
